Infinity – The End
WORK – FINE ARTS – INFINITY – THE END
This series is inspired by the Trimurti philosophy of Balinese Hinduism. I created the collages on Josh paper — traditionally used during (Chinese) cremations — which gave the series both its material and its symbolic foundation.
The use of this paper is not just visual. It reflects the openness of Balinese culture toward spirituality and the cycle of life and death. Each work carries shades of red, gold, and silver. The gold refers to the divine, the silver to cosmic forces at play.
At the heart of this series is the color yellow, which in Balinese Hinduism stands for wisdom and tranquility. For me, it also represents a deep connection with the divine, and an understanding of the spiritual fabric that shapes daily life in Bali.
Infinity – The End marks the final part of a three-year journey through this philosophy — a series that attempts to connect the material and the metaphysical, and invites reflection on the infinite cycles of life.
